  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)

  • Severe dehydration symptoms

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat

  • Signs of a severe allergic reaction

These symptoms may require immediate medical evaluation.

Rare but Serious Conditions

Rare complications associated with GLP-1 medications may include:

  • Pancreatitis

  • Gallbladder problems

  • Severe dehydration or kidney injury

  • Severe allergic reactions

  • Gastroparesis (severely delayed stomach emptying)

  • Bowel obstruction

  • Vision changes in patients with diabetes

  • Severe low blood sugar when combined with certain diabetes medications

  • Multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
